India’s coins are made in Kolkata
The Kolkata Mint at Alipore has been striking coins since 1757. Every coin says which mint made it, and the Kolkata mark is no mint mark at all — a blank space under the date is the Kolkata mark. Look at the space just under the date on any coin in your pocket.
Coins struck here sold for a median of ₹180, across 202 completed sales at 6 independent shops.
