Trust & safety
Is The Currency Bazaar safe?
Yes — and the one rule that keeps you safe here, or anywhere: money only ever comes to you. Nobody — not us, not a buyer, not anyone claiming to be the RBI — will ever ask a seller to pay a fee to receive a payment.
How money works on this site
- Sellers pay for a listing plan, on our own checkout (Razorpay). That is the only thing we charge for.
- We take no commission on a sale. What a buyer pays you is yours.
- Buyers pay no fee to use the site, and nobody pays to "release", "clear" or "verify" a payment.
What we will never do
- Ask you for an OTP, a UPI PIN or a card number on a call or a message.
- Call or WhatsApp you offering to buy your coin — buyers reach sellers only through the chat on this website.
- Publish a seller's phone number, WhatsApp or email address.
- Promise that any coin or note is worth lakhs.
What protects you here
- The text of every chat message is checked for the fraud patterns — fee requests, off-site payment links, "RBI clearance" — and you are warned before you reply.
- Where we can match an item to our price data, its page shows the range similar items really sold for — so an offer twenty times higher stands out.
- Coins 100 or more years old carry a notice that they cannot legally be sent out of India — the exact lie an "export fee" scam depends on.

If somebody has asked you for money
- Stop, and pay nothing more. Call 1930, the national cyber-crime helpline, or report at cybercrime.gov.in — money reported in the first hours is far more likely to be frozen.
- Forward the message to PIB Fact Check (factcheck.pib.gov.in), the government’s own fact-check unit.
- If it used our name, tell us at support@thecurrencybazaar.com.
